1. I think that people such as celebrities are portrayed this way in the media because it causes people to think that they use different products to get that certain look. This causes them to begin their search for skin products and things that they think will make them look like the celebrities that they've seen in the magazines or newspapers. This causes an increase of sales for the product that the advertisement is about, and therefore they make more money out of the payments of these customers.
2. I am not affected by the images that I see in the ads that try to convince people that the product makes you look as good as the person on it because i know that it's not true. I am not influenced by them also because i know that no product can change the way you look as much as they have tried to show it in the advertisement.
3. In order to reduce the amount of young men and women that are negatively affected by these images is by simply removing any images of people from the advertisement. If the product was just advertised as it is and an explanation of the product is provided in the ad, the companies will still continue to make money and less people will be affected negatively from these photos.
4. I would give a positive reaction to a magazine cover where the subject isn't all "glammed up" because I would know that when many people see it, they will realize that that person's skin isn't as "flawless" as they thought it was and they'll realize that no product can change the way someone looks or can make them look better than they already look. I think that this is a possible route that society should take because if this decision is made, it will be more beneficial for the customers and it will not tremendously affect the products' industries. This small decision can protect people from feeling like they are less than anybody else, and it will make many realize that no one is or can be perfect in appearance.

Imagine if there were actually no people portrayed in the media? wow, I've never thought of that! People would most def not be so negatively affected. :)
