What do I think of Illegal Downloading?

In my opinion, it is definitely wrong to download certain materials from the internet such as movies, games, or applications. The reason they don't give those things out for free in the first place is because there has been a lot of effort made into putting these materials together and they are made to be sold.
Materials that are often downloaded illegally however such as music, shouldn't be wrong or cause any offense because there is so much music that people listen to and thousands of songs that people listen to. If each downloadable song costs about a dollar, this means that there will be so much money spent on just having music to listen to! Therefore in my opinion, anything that can be viewed or listened to on youtube, should be available for free, legal download.

If i had produced my own piece of art/song/movie, i would continue to hold the same opinion because i don't think it would be fair for everyone to be paying so much money just to be listening to whatever it is that i produced. I would look at the situation from their point of view to see what would be best for the majority.

I feel that as long as the material that is being downloaded is not being given to other people, it is completely okay to download copyrighted material. If it's going to be used for personal reasons and not to be given or shared with others or being spread around, then it is acceptable to download material off the internet.
I also think that music should be available for free on the internet legally and only have official albums sold for those who want to have a legit copy of the music. Since right now music is being sold for money and has such a high total cost, it is almost impossible to download all our music legally.

Career Mashing!

When i was on career mash, I didn't expect to find a good variety of jobs or careers. Although it seemed improbable for me to find a job i would like, I did come across a job that seemed very enjoyable and something that i would look into as a career.

The job that i found was game developing. After i read the job description and thought about it a bit, I found that if I had this job, I would be getting paid a lot of money, for doing something that i like to do! I also found that this job would suit me because I really enjoy looking at details in a game and comparing games to one another. The information that career mash provided me with was great and it helped me to think a lot deeper about the future and the courses that i should take if i wanted this job.

After a bit of research about game developing, I discovered that the high school courses and credits that are mandatory for me are Introduction to Computer Programming (ICS 3C1), and Computer Technology (TEJ 3E1). Other optional courses that i can take that might help would be Computer Information Science (ICS 3U1), and Computer Engineering Technology (TEJ 3M1).

Although Career Mash didn't show any results for people people that really do this for a career and what their roles are, It still helped me with my job selection and looking into my future at an early stage of high school and to just dream big! Here is a link to the website if you want to give career mash a try!

Texting

Questions:

 1. What are your thoughts on social texting?

 2. Do you find it rude if you're talking to somebody and they continuously proceed to text on their cell phone?

 3. If you had to come up with a list of five etiquette rules for texting, what would they be?

 Answers:

 1. I don't think that social texting is wrong unless you want to talk to somebody and have no other way. Just as long as it doesn't completely become their main priority and cause them to become unaware of what is happening around them.

 2. Yes, I do find it rude if I'm talking to somebody and they decide to continue texting on their phone because that shows that they are showing no attention to me or anything that I'm saying.

 3. The rules that I would come up with in a list would be...

     (1) Do not be texting all the time continuously
     (2) Don't let texting stop your awareness of your surroundings
     (3) Do not put texting as a highest priority rather than other important things. (studying, friends, family, etc.)
     (4) Don't text all the time if you don't need to. Especially if your texting plan is limited.
     (5) Think before texting. (Ask yourself if its a necessary text or not)
